Leaving Sangamon work to Herndon, Lincoln goes to Jacksonville to participate in trial of much interest: Selby v. Dunlap. During preceding autumn Selby, editor of "Morgan Journal," printed communication reflecting on Dunlap. In retaliation Dunlap gave him severe horsewhipping.
