Atkinson arrives at noon with 320 regulars, volunteer infantry, and one six-pounder. Two Potawatomi chiefs come into camp and assure him that their people will remain peaceful. Volunteers camp south of river and regulars on north side. Order is issued against unauthorized firing of arms.
