Lincoln acknowledges Peter Zinn's invitation to speak in Cincinnati. "I shall try to speak at Columbus and Cincinnati; but can not do more." He writes Hawkins Taylor of Iowa that he will not attend Sept. term of U.S. Court in Keokuk. He is constantly compelled to decline invitations, but is "really tempted" to speak in Ohio.
