Lincoln speaks at Edwardsville at 1 P.M., after morning trip from Alton. Horace White, reporter, is impressed by "the quiet autumn day in the quaint old town; the serious people clustered around the platform; Joseph Gillespie officiating as chairman," as by few other meetings of campaign.
