Afternoon Fremont mass meeting is held in courthouse yard at Jacksonville. Lincoln, first speaker, appeals to antislavery Democrats not to vote for Buchanan. At four o'clock Springfield delegation leaves to attend Kansas meeting that evening at Springfield. After addresses by Lincoln, Conkling, and Robbins, meeting adjourns until night of 8th.
